New Construction Plumbing: What to Expect at Every Stage

New construction plumbing has three main stages. Understanding them helps you keep your build on schedule and your budget honest.

Stage 1: Underground

Before the slab is poured, we run drain and waste lines under the foundation. Get this wrong and the fix later means jackhammering concrete. We take the time to verify the plan against the actual framing before anything gets buried.

Stage 2: Rough-in (top-out)

Once the frame is up, we install all the water, drain, gas, and vent lines inside the walls and ceiling. Everything gets pressure tested before drywall goes up. This is where a PEX manifold system pays off: cleaner runs, fewer fittings inside walls, easier troubleshooting later.

Stage 3: Fixture-set (trim)

Toilets, sinks, tubs, water heaters, and fixtures go in after drywall, paint, and finish flooring. This is the stage the homeowner sees. Done right, it looks like the plumbing was easy. It wasn't.

What separates a smooth build from a painful one

Communication. If your plumber is not talking to the framer, drywaller, HVAC, and inspector, you are going to have delays. We stay looped in from the first plan review to the final walk-through.
